Shorthand is hiring!

Join the team behind the beautifully simple
visual storytelling platform

Want to join the happy, smart, growing team that makes the storytelling tool used by some of the world's most iconic brands and news publishers?

You're in luck, because we're recruiting for several new roles.

Customer Onboarding Specialist, London

We're looking for a savvy, customer-focused onboarding specialist to help our trial customers get value from our product right away, and to advise them about the plan that best suits them. In previous roles you might have held the title of Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, or Customer Support Manager. What counts is that you are driven to help customers succeed in their use of a software-as-a-service product.

This role requires someone who is happiest when our trial customers are happy. You're a black-belt communicator, and you have empathy in spades. Ideally, you love storytelling, creative writing, graphic design or a related field in the visual arts.

This role will be based in London, though we're happy to consider remote workers anywhere in the UK.

Frontend Engineer, Planet Earth

We call the web engineers who work on the code that enables Shorthand stories to create web magic for readers "story devs". Our story devs write code that is executed by millions of readers around the world every week. And it's no easy task: all this magic has to work across all the common browsers and devices.

We're seeking an experienced front end web developer to fill the coveted role of Shorthand story dev. You'll be someone who has a history of making amazing things happen inside web browsers. You'll have an extremely high bar for quality, and you'll be detail-oriented.

Of course, Javascript, ES6, Typescript, ReactJS, HTML and CSS will be second nature to you. You dream about this stuff by night and then you write sublime code by day.

Sound like you? We want you to join us, ASAP!

Manual QA Engineer, Planet Earth

We set a high bar for quality in our product and services, and as our platform has grown beyond the ability of the existing team to carry out QA on top of their core tasks, the role of Manual Quality Assurance Engineer is critical to maintaining the high expectations we set for ourselves.

For this role we are looking for someone with an eye for detail and a love of breaking things. You'll enjoy writing or visual storytelling, and you'll want to become an expert Shorthand user. Ideally you'll have had plenty of experience testing web applications, and you'll pride yourself on writing thorough issue reports and test documentation.

If this is you, and you want to join a fantastic product team, then we'd love to hear from you!

Please spread the word!
